THE MOMENT OF BIRTH . . . . A TIME
TO REST . . .
November 5, 2004
For some weeks now, I have been experiencing
tiredness and restlessless in my spirit. Sensing that
what I have been going through is not just my personal journey but
has a wider spiritual significance for other believers. I waited upon
the Lord for explanation about it's spiritual meaning and
below were the impressions that I got. To all of us who are standing in
this place this season, may these words breathe encouragement to our
souls.
ISAIAH 66:9 THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE
" Shall I bring to the [moment of]
birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring
forth shut the womb? says your God.
THE MOMENT OF BIRTH
With these verse, the Lord brought to my
memory scenes that takes place just after birth. Immediately after delivery,
the mother will be very tired and there is nothing much she can do but wait
for those attending to her to do what needs to be done. Physically and
emotionally she will be drained out from the process, but despite the
discomforts, there will be feelings of relief that it is over ,
that inner fulfillment for giving it her all and that excitement
to be able to hold her baby in her arms.
SPIRITUAL APPLICATION
Many of God's people are like that mother.
For so long, you have carried God's burden in your body and your have
nurtured it faithfully through the months, years that this burden has
stayed with you. Many of these expands between personal,
family, ministries, churches, people groups, communities, leaders,
cities, nations, environment, government, media, law & order, human
rights, abortions, educations, and many other issues that has been
gripping your hearts for so long.
You have prayed, shared, acted,
investing both your time, money , effort into these and now you
are at that point where you felt there is nothing more you can give.
You felt depleted, empty and wondering if you have done enough.
OUR WORK IS OVER
God is assuring us today that OUR WORK IS
OVER, in short the baby has been born. What we are experiencing now
are post natal syndromes of a mother who has just given
birth. This process can be draining and tiring. Now is the season
to REST , to allow our Heavenly Father's medical staff to finish and
clean up and WAIT for them to bring and place the baby in our arms.
THE CHALLENGE
Our challenge now is how to fill our mind.
The enemy will attempt to fill us with negative thoughts, feelings and
remembrance of where we have failed or the mistakes that we have committed
along the way. Many of what will be brought to our remembrance are TRUTH.
DON'T ARGUE OR RATIONALIZE
This is not the season to argue with the
enemy or rationalize why all these has taken place. Each time we find
ourselves in this place, let us run to our Heavenly Father in prayer, honestly
sharing with Him our feelings, fears, struggles, anxieties,
questions, and also acknowledging our mistakes & failures, confessing
them as the Holy Spirit will led us.
DON'T REMAIN INTHAT PLACE
However, don't remain in that place but
instead REMEMBER WHO OUR GOD IS. The enemy wants to pollute our spiritual
atmosphere by pressing our mind to focus and remember on what
has not come to pass. But our God wants us to cleanse our spiritual atmosphere
by proclaiming His power and His ability to work out all things (despite our
mistakes) for our good & His glory.
LET US DECLARE HIS GLORY TOGETHER
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us
Your own, Your chosen ones, Your beloved.
We know that in our labor, we have
committed many mistakes , we have failed You in so many ways but today we are
chosing to remember and focus on Your unending love, bountiful goodness, immeasurable
faithfullness, glorious miracles that You have performed through many
generations.
We declare blessings upon all the works of
our hands, the fruits of our labor, and all the burdens that we have
carried in our hearts, minds, and have birthed as Your Holy Spirit has led us.
We are confident that our labor will not be in vain and that in due season,
You will bring to completion all that we have started and cause them to grow
and bear much fruits for the glory of Your name.
Continue to fill our minds, hearts with
grateful remembrance for all the good things that You have done and fill our
mouth with unending praises for who You are. You are the Alpha and Omega, the
great I AM, Our Father who loves us so much.
With one voice, we declare that our lives
belong to You, our children, our families , our cities, the nations , the
earth is Your's and all that is in it and that nothing will be able to stop
You from fulfilling Your purpose for this generations.
Grace, favor & spiritual blessings of
the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship in
the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen (so be it). (2 Corinthians 13:14)
Rejoicing in God's goodness with you,
