January
23, 2001
Brethren,
Like many of you, I have been looking forward to the year 2001 with
excitement desiring to know more about what our Heavenly Father is doing in
our midst.
Today, let me share with you what I have received for my fellow laborers in
God's field.
BREAKING FORTH
Unlike in the past years, where the words and messages that I received were
sometimes long and lengthy, this year, while listening to Him, He gave me
a two
word prophetic message. The words were BREAKING FORTH.
My first reaction had been to exclaim," Wow!" and I began imagining
images
of miracles, signs, abundant financial blessings, healings as I was trying
to grasp in what manner and way the "breaking forth" of God would
be made
manifest in my life, my family, my community and around the nations.
Yesterday, I felt the Lord gently correcting me and this is what I got. As
always, please test them accordingly.
GOD'S WORD
"My child, when I break forth, and I am breaking forth in your midst, you
must be careful not to stereotype me and put a pattern to the flow of My
Spirit. For there will be no regular and fixed pattern, and you cannot put a
tag on my actions and movements.
"But remember this. It does not matter what form and pattern it will take.
The reality will remain the same. I AM BREAKING FORTH IN YOUR MIDST.
"There will be seasons where miracles, signs and wonders will abound, but
there will also be seasons of storms and droughts. There will be mountaintop
experiences, but there will also be walks through the valley. There will be
times of rejoicing, but there will also be times of mourning. There will be
moments of great prosperity and abundant blessings, but there will also be
times of shortage and seasons of great stretching of faith. There will be
days when you will walk and sit with kings and queens, but there will
also be days when you will be seated inside prison floors.
All these will come at different times, different places. No matter
what comes and what will take place in your midst I AM BREAKING FORTH AND
MY GLORY WILL BE SEEN ."
PITFALL TO GUARD
Our biggest enemy will be when we begin to measure ourselves against others-
When we begin to set our sights on other people's fields and start to compare
and wonder why God is not doing to us what He is doing to others. When we
start to do that, we will be in danger of being deceived.
We must realize that GOD HAS SET HIS EYES UPON US AT ALL TIMES. He alone
knows the best place and path for us and He will chart our path according to
His wisdom and sovereignty. Each path will be different and unique but the
truth remains the same. HE IS AT WORK IN EACH OF OUR LIVES TO BRING HIS
PLANS AND PURPOSES TO COMPLETION.
I was reminded by the Lord about an article that my daughter Kristin wrote
when she was 13 years old (she is now 18 years old). Somehow the Lord
reminded me that this article summed up what we need to avoid and watch out
for as we walk with God this year.
She has entitled this article "I Wish" . As you read it, may the Lord
reveal more of His heart to you through this simple message spoken from
the mouth
of babes.
PHILIPPIANS 4:11-13 (AMPLIFIED VERSION)
May Paul's words expressed to the Philippians become the
expression of
our
hearts as we seek to follow our Master wherever He will be leading us this
year and the years to come.
" . . . . for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the
point
where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. I know how
to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know how to
enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all
circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going
hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being
in want.
"I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me [ I am ready for
anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses, inner strength into
me; I am self-sufficient in Christ sufficiency]. "
PRAYER
"Father, make us all to be like Paul as we continue to walk with You
and
grow in You. Amen!"
Blessings to you all,

I WISH.... By Kristin Co
Lea sat on the chair near the window and watched the
people walking
by. A pretty little girl rode by on a pretty little bike.
"I wish I owned a bike like that," Lea thought.
Somewhere parked at the back of their garage was a
beautiful bike given
to Lea by her aunt from the United States. Lea often rode it a couple of
times when it was summer. Now, it just lay there forgotten.
A happy couple who were walking their dog strolled by. Lea
said
wistfully, "I'd really love to have a dog as cute as theirs. "
Near Lea's feet sat a beautiful little dog with hair as
white as
snow, waiting for her to acknowledge its presence.
Flipping back her dark brown hair, the lady hurried by in
attempt to
catch her bus. Lea's eyes followed her longingly, "Why can't my hair be as
silky as that?"
Laying atop her head was Lea's long, thick and silky black
hair braided
into a crown.
A truck drove by bearing the name of an expensive clothes
store.
"When will I ever get to wear clothes as pretty as the
ones they're
selling in their store?" she whispered.
Lea was wearing a matching silk blouse and skirt with
pretty bright
colors. They were bought from one of the most expensive and well known dress
shops.
Chatting loudly, a group of friends passed by.
" I wish I had friends I could get together with."
Upstairs in Lea's room, were pictures of her and her friends
having fun
at the beach, the mall, the school dance, their hiking trip, etc. On her
desk were the gifts given to her from the passing years and in her drawer,
cards and letters lay always ending with, "I'll be there when you need me.
"
and "Love you always."
Lea sighed, " I wish..."
Have you ever heard the saying, " The lawn next door is always greener?"
People often spend their lives looking through the window, watching other
people walk by. We see people blessed with gifts. We immediately feel
envious and start longing for those very gifts. Sometimes we even look up to
the skies and ask God, " Why can't I have things like theirs? "
We were
too busy with watching and feeling jealous that we couldn't make ourselves
turn way from the window. Before we start telling God to give us those very
things, maybe we should first look around us and realize that God has
already given you those gifts and that they were just in front of you,
waiting for you to see them.
The lawn next door is not always greener. It is even possible that while
we
are envying others, they are envying us.
